PKK financing suspects arrested in France
French police have arrested eight men in connection with an investigation into the finances of the banned Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK). The arrests took place in the Paris region and southern France. The suspects are believed to have been preparing and financing terrorist acts, as well as conspiring to extort funds for the PKK. Investigators suspect that the funds were intended for use in Belgium. The PKK has been designated a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union. Last Friday, April 19, two members of the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) were shot and wounded during a clash with Indonesian soldiers of the Habema Operations Command in Paro village, Nduga Regency, Highland Papua.
